Characteristic: Vine stem ligneous,oblate strips,0.3-2.0 cm in diameter,surface grey-brown,with longitudinal ridges;nodes enlarged,bearing adventitious roots.Cross section revealing radial vascular bundles and visiblevessel pores and pith.Aromatic in odour.Acrid in taste,slightly warm innature,and attributive to liver channel.
Pharmacodynamics: 1.Expel wind dampness and dredge the channels:For rheumatism with arthralgia,immovability ofjoints and muscular spasm.2.Warm the lung to relieve cough:For cough and dyspnea of lung-coldorigin,and chronic cough.

Usage: Decoction:6-15g.
