Resource: Bark of Erythrina variegata L.var.orientalis(L.)Merr.,family Leguminosae.
Characteristic: Bark plate-lamellar,slightly involuted at both sides,0.3-1.0 cm thick,light brown;surface with longitudinal cracks and scatteredconical spines;base broad,apex acute and curved;inner surface flat,withfine reticular striae.Section lobed.Prepared by crosscutting into strips.Bitter in taste,mild in nature,and attributive to liver and kidney channels.
Pharmacodynamics: 1.Expel wind-dampness,dredge the channels and relieve arthralgia:For arthralgia of wind-dampness type accompanied with numbness and muscular spasm,especially for that located at the waist and lower extremities. 2.Kill parasites and alleviate itching:For scabies(external use as lotion or wet compress).

Usage: Decoction:3-12g.
