How to Eliminate Joint Pain
Icing the inflamed area once or twice a day may help reduce the inflammation. Rest and protecting the joint from continued injury may facilitate the natural healing process. Improving body mechanics and posture is often a key to better joint alignment. Because hyperpronation causes internal rotation of the leg and forward rotation of the pelvis, more torque is displaced across the joints so they become misaligned. Correcting the alignment by reducing hyperpronation will help protect the knee and other joints from further injury. In the case of a meniscus tear, arthroscopic surgery may be necessary to ease the pain.
Pay attention to how you are sitting, too. You may find you sit at your desk with your legs twisted under the chair or crossed over each other. These positions may cause prolonged tension on ligaments, and may cause or perpetuate your pain.
