Name: Fructus Mori
Resource: Fruit of Morus alba L.,family Moraceae.
Characteristic: A kind of collective fruit(consisting of many small achenes),oblong,1-2 cm long.Appearing yellow-brown,dull purple when riped,with short fruit stalk.Small achene flat-ovate,wrapped by fleshy persistent perianth.Sweet and sour in taste,warm in nature,and attributive to heart,liver and kidney channels.
Pharmacodynamics: Nourish yin,enrich blood,moisturize dryness and calm the wind:For insufficiency of yin-blood or stirring up of wind-yang manifested as dizziness,tinnitus,vexation and insomnia;for diabetes due to yindeficiency and insufficiency of fluid;for constipation due to deficiency of yin and dryness of intestine.Recently,used for anemia,neurasthenia,diabetes mellitus and hypertension of yin-deficiency type.
Pharmacological: It contains sugar,organic acid,vitamins B1,B2 and C,and carotene.Its oleum contains oleic acid and linoleic acid.
Usage: Decoction:15-30g.
