Name: Radix Cudraniae
Resource: The root or the whole plant of Cudrania tricuspidata(Carr.)Bur.,family Moraceae.
Characteristic:
Ashrub or small tree with woody tap root system.Cork of the root,thin,orange-red,usually peeling off in layers.Branch with hard thorns.Leaves opposite,ovate,margin entire or 3-lobed.Capitulum.Flowers and fruits aggregated,globular,red and fleshy.Slightly bitter in taste,cool in nature,and attributive to liver and lung channels.
Pharmacodynamics:
1.Remove blood stasis,alleviate pain,expel wind and dampness:For rheumatism and trauma.Recently,also for acute and chronic hepatitis,tumour of the digestive tract,carcinoma of liver,pancreas and lung,etc.
2.Relieve cough and eliminate sputum:For productive cough.
Pharmacological:
1.Inhibiting sarcoma?(180),cervix carcinoma?(27) and Ehrlich-Ascites tumour.
2.Cytotoxic to the cells of esophageal carcinoma in vitro.
3.Analgesic.
Usage:
Decoction:30-150g.
